Repairs to the Kealakehe green waste recycling collection area may cause some delays in service, according to the county Department of Environmental Management.

The site will remain open for drop-off of green waste, and the work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, officials said.

An alternate location for depositing green waste is the county’s West Hawaii Organics Facility, adjacent to the West Hawaii Sanitary Landfill in Puuanahulu. That site is open 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Free mulch with assisted mechanical loading is also available at this location.
